2015 Capital Project
Building on Our Future
These are promising times at Pennellville UMC. While we do not have an abundance of money to do a lot of extra projects and ministries, we do have a lot of faith -- faith that is revealed in a variety of ways. This week we will welcome 6 new members. Attendance has remained steady over the past few years -- with the average attendance in 2014 inching up to 47/week. It was 40/week three years ago. In September, PUMC began a weekly evening Sunday School, which averages 10 kids per week; and our groups, book and bible studies; and seasonal and on-going mission projects continue to thrive. We also continue to have a gifted and committed choir, boasting 14 members; and this December, we hosted the 42nd annual Pennellville UMC Cantata.

Last year, the congregation sold its parsonage and used those funds and its credit line to re-invest in its church property by doing two renovation projects -- one involved peaking the flat roof to eliminate leaking that had been occurring in the hallways, kitchen and fellowship hall; and a sanctuary improvement that included asbestos removal and new flooring; installation of windows, new ceiling fans, and painting throughout the building. The 2015 project will complete the renovations and put us in an excellent position to continue to be in ministry in Pennellville and beyond!

To authorize $13,000 in spending, the congregation voted last week to raise $6,5000 in pledges and funds by March 1. We hope to raise the total of $13,000 by June 1. Please join us in "Building on the future" by supporting this project. Pledge cards can be completed and mailed to Pennellville UMC, 389 County Route 54, Pennellville, NY 13132.

We hope you will prayerfully consider a gift for this project.

Yours in Christ,
  Jeff Hodge, Pastor

Pledge Card --
Pennellville UMC – 2015 Capital Project

This drive is to raise $6500 in cash and pledges by March 1, 2015 so we can remove asbestos and recover the floor in the Fellowship Hall and maintain some invested money to help pay off our loan for last year’s work. Doing this job this May will save $2000 in NYS license fees.
